Best Friend In Your Pocket
You And Your Best Friend
A best friend is a very special person in your life. They are your lifeblood. You think about them when they’re away from you. They are the first person you think about when making plans. Whenever you have a bad day and need someone to talk to, you call upon your best friend. A best friend is kind, loving, caring and compassionate and will never let you down. They will go the extra mile and be willing to make sacrifices. You can have a good laugh and even be silly with a best friend, knowing you’re in safe hands. In many cases they are even willing to lay down their life for you.
However close you are to a relative, there’s a saying that goes: A friend sticks closer than a brother. Once you’ve found a good friend and start to get to know them. Over a period of time, with nurture and care, spending time together and sharing,. That friendship develops and blossoms into a very special bond. A bond that becomes a best friend which is hard to break, where no outsiders are allowed in. Do you get the picture? Two is company, three is a crowd.
Your Best Friend – Rolling Back The Years
Now you’ve read this far and seen the picture. I’m quite sure you’ll know what I’m getting at. Nevertheless, let’s roll back the time to about thirty years ago . It was about this time that the first mobile phone was launched in the U.K. by Vodafone. In addition to that, only the privilege had a house phone. To make a phone call you had to use a public telephone box. In many cases they were a few streets away from where you live. By the time you got there, depending on the time of day, there was usually a queue. You can only imagine the frustrations trying to make an emergency call or having something really important to tell your best friend. The outside of the Tardis on Dr who will give you an idea of what public telephones were like.
Back to the future with your best friend in your pocket
To put things into perspective, I would like to share a quote I came across with you. The quote was made by the Chief Justice in the US Supreme Court referring to information on mobile phones. He said that cell phones are “such a pervasive and insistent part of daily life that the proverbial visitor from Mars might conclude they were an important feature of human anatomy.”
Ironically when you think about it. This quote is not too far from the truth. If you have a smart phone, what is one of the things you do before you leave your house? You know the answer.
A best friend will look out for each other. Will always be there and guide each other in times of need. A best friend will always listen, time distance and space is no object.
So long as your smartphone or mobile is fully optimized, which includes credit, data, internet and battery charged, your best friend will always be in your pocket.
